Things are really moving along now! With this good weather we’ve had, most of the rafters are up, and the roof is finished on the two-story side.
This morning the crane came to put the trusses upstairs and the ridge beam above my great room. (The ridge beam is what all of the rafters will be attached to.) North Mountain and the crane operator were finished in 2 hours… They really are amazingly skilled and talented people.
Everyday it looks more and more like a real house. Frankie and I’d better start packing!
North Mountain, being the ultimate troopers that they are, were on site today in the snow and the freezing, god-awful temps AGAIN, putting up my little house. I hope they know how much I appreciate them!
Bob of NM says I’m the boss now instead of Dad. I’m thinking of letting them take tomorrow off, since it’s gonna be 4 degrees in the morning… hmm… I’ll have to see how generous I feel in the morning…
THANKS SO MUCH, GUYS!!
This is so exciting! You can actually see the shapes and sizes of some of the rooms now. I know, I know. Every single stage of this project is the most exciting stage… but come on. This is really exciting!! You can see rooms!
Hmmm… I just reread what I’ve written, and it’s really hard to make any sense of my descriptions and pictures. I guess it’ll just be confusing for everyone until the drywalling starts! Oh well!
North Mountain Rocks!
Here is my window for the west end of the house beside my kitchen door.
